CUB & Co is an Afrocentric clothing brand created by a ‘super mom’ based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. CUB & Co started as brick-and-mortar ‘hobby shop’ which has evolved into an exclusively ecommerce clothing business.
The owner of CUB & Co came to Speidr with original designs, amazing products and a compelling brand story but with problems regarding how to achieve their desired business model. They were in the process of closing their brick-and-mortar shop and transition their business entirely online. The problems were technical, such as web site design and function, business processes related and regarding how to market an completely ecommerce business model.
CUB & Co original website worked well for the traditional inventory model but needed an upgrade in order to provide complete ecommerce services. They also needed a review of their business processes to be better aligned with their desired new business model and goals. Although they had an understanding of their current market, they needed to adapt their marketing strategy to the new business model to expand to new markets. They also wanted to automate more of their marketing activities, allowing them to reach larger volumes of customers, more quickly, more reliably and with less effort.
The new dropshipping website can process orders, accept payments, manage shipping and logistics, and provide customer service. This facilitated the change from the traditional inventory fulfillment model to accommodate the new dropshipping model providing scalability, flexibility and reduced costs for CUB & Co. The new website was also enhanced to increase customer engagement, repeat customers and significantly reducing cart abandonment. A revised marketing strategy was developed focusing on creating a community and telling their unique brand story. An email marketing campaign was developed leveraging the existing email database and providing an efficient, reliable and low cost method of reaching existing and potential customers.
